:::Morris was using his insights to conjecture what the Republicans needed to do to win. Many of his articles were kept on the NewsMax website for this reason. In the final days each of his updates talked specifically about McCain and what he needed to do to win and what affect his choices were having on his campaign. I can't remember a single article he wrote advising what Obama needed to do to win. They were written from the Republican perspective. Does that make him a Republican? No. But it does mean in his role as a professional he was taking the perspective of the Republicans in sharing his insights and knowledge -- and that is what is important for this article.
