I have reverted your edits. While I don't have access to the book you cited, "Chemical Storylines" by Salters-Nuffield, I have access to many references, and I can absolutely state that:
*It is not possible that any radioactive decay process turns magnesium into manganese.
*Manganese and magnesium come from completely different ores. There is no industrial process that separates them, by fractional crystallization, fractional distillation, or other means.
I doubt that the Salters-Nuffield book made those statements.
