6 bytes added, 21:58, November 30, 2008
'''Buchan ''' is a district of north-east [[Aberdeenshire]], washed by the [[North Sea]] on its north and east coasts. It is a primarilly agricultural region, with fishing from its coasts; the two main towns, [[Fraserburgh]] and [[Peterhead]] are among [[Scotland]]'s pre-eminent fishing ports. Buchan is a flat and low-lying area, open to searingly cold winds. the highest point, Mormond Hill, is topped by an array of broadcasting masts. Buchan also boasts the most easterly point in Scotland, Buchan Ness, south of Peterhead. A dialect form of [[Scots]] known as [[Doric]] is widely spoken in the region.
