You seem less aware of the works of your liberal hero Lucas than you let on. I've seen the first Star War film and the space station (Death Moon? Death Star?) blows up a whole planet with a big laser gun! It's there for all to see. This is a serious encyclopaedia and we shouldn't let Hollywood trivia bog it down.
