The '''Celts''' were a people who lived in [[Europe]] at the time of the [[Roman Empire]].  Originally Celts were in many places including modern [[France]], modern [[Spain]] and the [[British Isles]].  Today Celtic populations still survive.  Important places in Mainland Europe where there are Celtic populations are [[Britany]] (Bretagne) in France and the [[Basque]] region which straddles the border between France and Spain.
