'''Prestonpans''' is a village in [[East Lothian]], [[Scotland]], on the fringes of [[Edinburgh]]. It is noted as the site of the Battle of Prestonpans which took place in 1745. It was once famous for its oysters and as a place where the monks quarried salt(the name means ''priest's-village-(salt) pans'').
