::Okay, that sheds some light, but it would help if you could point me to an essay or article that expands on what you mean by "the atheistic reliance on a personal past". Is that another way of saying that atheists rely too much on on their individual education and experience? If so, it doesn't make much sense because each of us, including conservatives like yourself, developed your worldview through a lifetime of learning and experience. The difference would be in ''where'' each of us draws our education from over time - school, family, ongoing readying and self-study, Church, etc., and the different experiences of our lives.
