Saxplayer, Franken's work has had a political slant for more than 30 years, so saying he hasn't had a "long standing interest in politics" is simply inaccurate. Neither Scharzenegger nor Reagan held public office before being elected to Governor of California (a bit larger role than senator. And no, president of an entertainers' guild doesn't count). I would think truth and honesty is a conservative principal, is it not? Finally, Franken seems to know enough about politics to campaign to a virtual tie with Coleman. Taollan, it would take a close minded liberal to equate a statesman of Ronald Reagan's stature to a second rate, not very funny "comedian" like AL Franken. You would be well served if you perused many of the articles on this site. Like many liberals, you are a bitter, angry person.
