I hope to understand how culture and religion evolved over time and if we still today act and think the same way as our ancestors did years ago. I also would like to expand my knowledge on how the form of art and writing has always been a way for man to express himself.

It is said that around 3300 B.C. the Great Flood occurred. What fascinates me is that about just 400 years after Adam and Eve were exiled from the Garden of Eden man became so evil that God caused a Great Flood to kill all the evil people in the world that they might not contaminate the good and that the human race has another chance to start again. In just 400 to 500 years the human race became to evil to obtain God’s mercy. It shows how man will tend to become lazy and forget about God and only do things that would benefit themselves. I would think that after Adam and Eve were deprived of all the joys of the Garden of Eden they would have been very scared that God may punish them even more and they would warn their descendants of the power of God.

Hammurabi’s Code is very similar to the Ten Commandments since it teaches that what ever you do to someone the same thing will be done to you is related to the Golden Rule “Do onto others as you want them to do to you.” Hammurabi’s Code was fair and it made you think twice before you do anything. I think the code helped make the society more safe and just for everyone. I think it was important that the rule was strict because if it was lenient none would care to obey it and the society would become chaotic.
