'''Charles Stewart Parnell''' (1846 - 1891) was a 19th century Irish Nationalist, sometimes referred to as "The Uncrowned King of Ireland". He was a member of Parliament, leader of the Irish Party, and a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood. He attempted to achieve independence for Ireland through obstructionist tactics, as well as through revolution, being a significant participant in the Fenian Rising of 1867. The Easter Rising of 1916, likewise, was largely inspired by his writings. A personal issue caused him to lose support from his party, and he died soon after.
