:Andy, we need to stress that fireworks are a Chinese invention. As is, the article is not clear as to whether fireworks were extant with the advent of gunpowder, or if it was a new invention. How about "Later, in A.D. 850, China invented gunpowder, which also popularized fireworks, another Chinese invention"?
