1)  There are many qualities that would allow Alexander the Great to succeed.  First, he was a born leader…  He seized control of the throne immediately after his father died.  Second, he has the capacity to learn.  Clearly he was a bright man, or at least charismatic, as he united Greece from its previous condition of unordered city states.  He had one of the greatest minds in history to learn from, Aristotle.  He was arguably home schooled.  He was both ruthless and gentle.  However, the single most important or influential piece that led to his success, was that he truly defined “beneficiary of circumstance.”  Undoubtedly there have been other men or women throughout history that were just as competent or savvy enough for war, but the majority of the time they fall prey to an outside force that prohibits them from maximizing their potential.  I would go so far to say that there was another individual growing up with Alexander that was just as skilled as he.  But the Bible says God chooses leaders, not to say Alexander the Great believed in God, nevertheless he was put in a position to lead by God.  It is impossible to arise into a position of power unless every single thing goes your way.  That happened for Alexander the Great, and that is why he, and not someone else, became world renowned.
