'''Jules Isaac''' (1877-1963) was a well-respected [[French]] Historian. After he lost his job in 1940 and his wife, daughter in 1943 because of his and their Jewish heritage, he developed an intellectual interest in Christian [[Anti-Semitism]]. His efforts produced his 1948 book ''Jesus and Israel'' as well as his work in 1949 with [[Pope Pius XII]] that helped lead to the 1955 change in the ''Good Friday Prayer for the Jews'' ritual, which by today's standards was reprehesible.
