1. When and where was the Industrial Revolution? The Industrial Revolution was a time in history where fundamental changes occurred in agriculture, textile and metal manufacture, transportation, economic policies and the social structure in England. In 1760 the Revolution had fully begun and lasted until 1840.

2. Pick your two favorite scientists or mathematicians from the 1800s and explain what you like about them:  My favorite mathematician is Bernhard Riemann. As a teenager he was sent to a german school and was put in an advanced math class, where he greatly succeeded in. Since Riemann found the class so easy the principle gave him a book that was so complex it was considered the most difficult math book in the world. Riemann used his knowledge to overcome that book and later on developed a new type of geometry that became useful in the 20th century, and is still taught today.

Thomas Edison is my favorite scientist due to the fact of his determination when it came to creating something he believed so strongly in. Edison had many obstacles in his way, including not being able to hear, yet it was who he invented some of the greatest inventions in the world. Edison is greatly admired by many because he is such an inspiration to not let anything stand in your way.

3. Do you think the Industrial Revolution was good or bad, and why? The Industrial Revolution was both good and bad in ways. The areas of the world who participated in the industrialization grew closer together, and global interaction increased. During this time the middle class greatly increased and many became interested in politics, which led to reforms and new policies. The Revolution also had some negative effects, during this time child labor greatly increased and many families were having to live in small and cramped apartments which were often unsanitary and burned down. I think the revolution did more good things then bad though, therefore I think it was a good thing it happened.
