The “Great War” was World War I and the reason it was called the “Great War” was because it was the most violent and bloody war to date.

On one side were  Austria-Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire,and on the other side were  Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and, in 1917 the United States.

Really nobody won World War I-- although there was a symbolic “victor” both sides suffered immense casualties, ranging from 10-16 million. The British and their allies invaded Germany, thus “winning” although sustaining heavy losses. But even if you count Britain as having won, they still did not handle the win the right way, severely mistreating Germany and taking large amounts of money and resources from Germany. And because Britian gave Germany such harsh treatment the Germans were quick to elect Adolph Hitler as president. So although Britain “won” they still, in an interesting way, caused World War II.

  I think the most interesting theory is quantum mechanics. The basic premise of quantum mechanics is that the basic building block is essentially a wave, but when observing the wave it changes into a particle. This is very interesting because by observing something you can change it, even if you do not think you interfered.

I believe that the economic problems today are not very similar to the Great Depression but were greatly exaggerated by the media in order to have Barack Obama elected, just as Franklin Delano Roosevelt was during the Great Depression. But this exaggeration caused the stock investors to lose confidence.
