Newcastle was founded in 1892 by the merger of Newcastle West End and Newcastle East End. The team currently plays at St James' Park in [[Newcastle upon Tyne]]. Their club colors are black and white stripes with black shorts. Newcastle United are nicknamed 'the Magpies', or, more simply, 'Toon' (the local pronunciation of 'town'); its fans are the 'Toon Army'.
