The Catholic belief is that Mary was '''assumed''' into heaven body and soul. Only one person '''ascended''' into heaven, by his own power, and that was Jesus. Also, Catholics recognizes the assumptions of Enoch and Elijah.--[[User:Sille714|Sille714]] 14:09, 20 May 2009 (EDT)

:As for Mary, the Catholic Church holds her in a special light. As the mother of Jesus, as the chosen one of a virgin birth, she is the new Eve and Jesus is the new Adam. Catholics don't worship her but love her as that special person of God. One person who ascended to Heaven is not Catholic teaching.--[[User:Jpatt|Jpatt]] 14:17, 20 May 2009 (EDT)
