Countries such as the UK have a healthcare system that functions pretty well. Perhaps not quite as well as the private hospitals, but it's free. This means that people who through no fault of their own, cannot look after themselves, are taken care of as they ought to be. It also means the paramedic checks your pulse before your wallet.
