Made it clearer that the varient uses of the term are unrelated (that is, that JWL wasn't a pro-life activist.).
American Taliban is a derogatory term used by liberals and atheists to describe conservative Christianity in America. Because of their opposition to gay marriage and abortion, liberal extremists categorize this as being equivalent to the Afghan Taliban who controlled Afghan society and forced Islamic law at gunpoint. Specifically, the term is most often used in reference to pro-life activists who attempt to disrupt the abortion industry in America.
The title was first used , in an unrelated fashion, in reference to John Walker Lindh, a California man who joined the Taliban in early 2001, was captured on the battlefield in Afghanistan while in opposition to American forces in October 2001. Lindh was subsequently returned to the United States where he received 20 years in federal prison.
