But the opposing side deviously prevented this motion from passing, in an example of how parliamentary procedure works to the advantage of the loudest, most assertive member.  The opposition first stalled the motion by falsely claiming that the Committee had already adopted the platform.  When that was disproved, they claimed that 15 days' notice was necessary before bringing this motion, which was also false.
