After college Reagan became a radio sports announcer in Iowa. Although he was originally only hired to announce the University of Iowa football games he became so popular in the mid-west he began covering Chicago Cubs baseball games at Wrigley Field. He also wrote sports columns in the Des Moines Dispatch.
