Here, we see that [[God]] is still creating new creatures (the new strains of the Influenza virus) -- by adapting them to be resistant to man's vaccines.  Some scientists attribute this adaptation of the influenza virus to [[Evolution]], arguing that random mutations in the influenza genetic code are continually testing new "strategies" for defeating the vaccinated human immune system.  Those which are effective can multiply while those which are not effective are destroyed by the immune system.  If not for one of these two mechanisms (direct intervention by God or evolution), it would not be necessary to receive an annual vaccination.

The tendency of the influenza virus to rapidly change, and the call for revaccination against it, is a prime example of the necessity for preventative measures to be updated with some frequency in order to effectively decrease the incidence of pathogenic afflictions.
