:::He was not so much anti-religious as he was anti-organized religion. There are several characters in his books that are sympathetic to religion. In one (I will fear no evil) the main character explains that even if another character, who is a preacher, is dead wrong about their believes the joy, comfort and propose they bring to others lives is still a great goodness.
