==History question==
After signing the Declaration did the colonies officially become states or was not until Independence and the Articles were singed? Before 13 colonies split, each state was a royal province e.g. the Province of Connecticut. During the war they were no longer called royal but did they have official naming such as Colony of Connecticut? --[[User:Jpatt|Jpatt]] 00:01, 20 October 2009 (EDT)
