'''Keith Andre Butler, Sr.''' (born 1956) is an American minister and politician. He the first black Republican ever elected to the Detroit City Council, servig from 1989 to 1994.
Butler was born in [[Detroit]], [[Michigan]]. He and his wife Deborah L. Butler graduated from [[Rhema Bible Training Center]] in Tulsa, [[Oklahoma]] in 1978. They founded Word of Faith International Christian Center in 1979. He became a Republican in 1982 and campaigned in Michigan for Republican presidential nominees.
He served as the first Republican Detroit City councilman since World War II from 1989 to 1994. Keith sought the 2006 Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, garnering 40% of the vote but losing to [[Mike Bouchard]].<ref name=ap2006">Associated Press (August 09, 2006).
