Fuld became a practitioner of the Ouija Board although he would deny it. However, he told people that the board told him to name the "talking boards" he planned on producing "ouija" boards. The first part "oui," meaning "yes" in [[French]] and the second "ja" meaning "yes" in [[German]]. He patented his version of the talking board in 1892.
