::::::The point is that most people here do not think that "Islam" is an appropriate word to use here (even if technically correct), so the question then is which of several possible alternatives is best to use. I edited the sentence to say "and some religions, such as Islam, continue to justify it," as at the moment someone had reverted the line back to "countries including Islam" which sounds silly to the average reader who does not have the extensive knowledge about the history of Islam that some of you all do.
