:::::::::Ed, why are you treating me like I'm a troublemaker when I'm expressing what Andy refers to above as "thoughtful comments" in a respectful way?  I'm stating my support for translating the Bible and making it accessible to the greatest number of people, and asking questions about how different opinions regarding the translation are resolved.
  −
:::::::::If suggesting that people should approach Bible translation with humility and a bias towards preserving content versus removing it is troublemaking, then I'm a troublemaker.  I'm not claiming to be more correct than anyone here, but it seemed like the reasons for removing a quote attributed to Jesus were mostly subjective in nature.  The point about prophecy fulfillment was not answered in any of the discussions on this page, so I was following up to see what the conclusion was.
  −
:::::::::I'm also being respectful and deferential as a new editor here, and confined my edits to clear grammar & spelling corrections while leaving the content translation to others.  When I had comments on the "Best of the Public" essay, I used the header "A different take on this", not "You're wrong", and I ended my comments when you felt I had said enough.
  −
:::::::::If you're telling me that I've said enough on this talk page and need to stop, I will, but I've had no such criticism from Andy and it would be a shame to end the conversation early because of the opinion of someone who hasn't been part of the discussion.  I would just ask that my question above be answered by Andy or someone who speaks for him - if the this project seeks to use "the best of the public" to create a valuable, contemporary version of the Bible, what is the process and criteria for determining what "the best" is when different well-intentioned contributors can't reach agreement on something?  --[[User:ChrisY|ChrisY]] 15:29, 23 December 2009 (EST)
