'''''The Lives of Others''''' (Original title: ''Das Leben der Anderen'' 2006) is an [[Oscar]]-winning drama directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. Following a couple of artists, the drama shows the cultural scene of East Berlin in the 1980's, where agents of the [[Stasi]] (''Staatssicherheit'', literally ''security of the state'', the secret service of the [[GDR]]) pervaded everyday life. The high-profile artistic couple is being spied on by the Stasi, and the officer in charge finds himself drawn into their lives more than his own.
