::there are indeed some other motivations, like opposition to oil companies, extreme environmentalism, and hostility to nuclear power. I think the way to bring those in is when discussing the various advocates. Note that conservatives (like Palin for example) support alternative energy ideas too, albeit with less enthusiasm.
