I don't believe that the figures in the two articles cited can be compared to each other. Planned Parenthood does various things - not all of their money is about sex ed or abortions, some is things like breast cancer ed (if I remember right) - plus most public schools get little federal funding anyway, so looking at Planned Parenthood's total income vs. federal gov't money spent on abstinence-only ed doesn't mean much of anything. We should look into getting non-murdering organisations to handle more of those - it would make it easier for us to starve Planned Parenthood of the government funds that keep it running if they didn't have such a noble-seeming cause with which to demand tax funding - and I am sure some of the cancer-screening grants find their way into pro-abortion lobbying. Making kids think that sex is some sort of evil, dirty thing is wrong. And there are always going to be those who think, "Oh, we're going to sin and have sex anyway, and since condoms don't even really work, let's just do it without one!" There will always be teens who's view differ but their education may be impaired by your views. Thus the unintended side effect of more unwed pregnancies, STDs, etc. Then there's also the arguement that "abstinence until marriage" promotes people hastily getting married to find they are stuck in a union which they regret getting into, because they'd mixed up their concepts of "lust" and "love" amidst the social pressure and their teen desires.
