The '''forebrain''' is the most rostral area of the [[brain]] in the [[central nervous system]]. It is divided into four sections: the [[frontal lobe]], [[temporal lobe]], [[parietal lobe]] and [[occipital lobe]]. While many functions are distributed across the brain, these last three areas primarily receive and process information from different parts of the body, whereas the [[frontal lobe]] is where most higher mental functions take place.
