Very many such buildings have in recent decades been converted into 'loft [[apartment]]s' or other residential/leisure related uses. Warehouses now tend to be single-story 'big shed' type buildings covering a large area, and located at strategic points on the [[motorway]]/interstate network outside or on the periphery of cities.
