'''Jyutping''' is a romanization system for Standard [[Cantonese]] developed in 1993. Formally, it is the Linguistic Society of Hong Kong Cantonese Romanization Scheme. The LSHK promotes the use of this romanization system.
Compared to [[Standard Cantonese Pinyin]], Jyutping:
*Renders the vowel sounds oe and y differently
*Remders the sounds dz and ts differently
*Uses a different system for tones
Jyutping also refers to a system for entering Chinese characters into a computer. It is based on pronunciation, much like the [[pinyin method]].
