==Special Election==
Charles is the only Republican running for Hawaii 1st District in the U.S. House of Representatives since Neil Abercombie's deciding to step down February 23, 2010. Currently he faces three Democratic challengers before the special election is to be held within 60 days. He is emphasizing fiscal responsibility in [[Washington D.C.]], focusing on creating jobs by cutting taxes.
Strong anti-Democrat resentment and a growing [[TEA Party]] movement may significantly improve Djou chances to gain a [[Republican]] seat in Congress.
