'''Illegal Abortions''' are those which are performed contrary to the letter of the law. For example, many states, such as [[Nebraska]] and soon [[Oklahoma]], are passing laws restricting the allowed time period for abortions; thus, the performing of an abortion after this time period would be an illegal procedure.
The possibility of dangerous "back alley" abortions are commonly cited by [[pro-choice]] advocates as reasons to allow for legal abortions. That is, if the woman is desparate enough, they will use any means possible to terminate the child. This, however, is not a basis for legalizing abortion. As abortion is murder, it is illogical to provide the killers of unborn children with a safe place to do it in.
