'''Sharron Angle''' (born July 26, 1949 in Klamath Falls, Oregon) is a candidate for the [[Republican]] nomination for [[U.S. Senate]] to challenge Senate Majority Leader [[Harry Reid]] in the 2010 election. She served as a member of the Nevada General Assembly from 1999 through 2007. She is also a member of the [[National Rifle Association]] and the [[National Right to Life Committee]].

Angle attended [[Reno]] public schools and graduated the University of Nevada with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to become a substitute teacher, taught art courses at Western Nevada Community College and co-founded and administrated a twenty-four student Christian school. After her election in 1998, Angle rose to become Minority Whip in the Nevada Legislature. She narrowly lost a campaign for the Republican nomination for [[Congress]] to Nevada Secretary of State Dean Heller by just 428 votes.

Angle candidacy has received the endorsement of the [[Tea Party]] Express and is in a near dead heat with front-runner [[Sue Lowden]] according to a May Las Vegas Review-Journal poll. <ref>http://www.lvrj.com/news/tea-party-power-fuels-angle-93662969.html</ref>
