'''Lyon''' is a city in south-central [[France]] in the Rhône-Alpes Region. After [[Paris]] and [[Marseille]], it is the third largest city, however with its suburbs, it is the second largest city. It lies between the two cities, and is only 2 hours from Paris by the [[TGV]].
Lyon is located at the convergence of the Rhône and Saône rivers where the medieval city and beyond that two large hills give panoramic views of the city. Lyon is a [[UNESCO]] [[World Heritage Site]] and tourism is an important industry, along with film, finance and light industries. A large basilica, the Notre-Dame de Fourvière, looks over the city from the western hill and nearby there are Roman amphitheatres which are the largest outside of [[Italy]]. Lyon is known to be a capital of French cuisine.
