'''Derry City Football Club''' is an Association football club based in [[Londonderry]], [[Northern Ireland]]. The club was orginally founded in 1928 and were granted by the [[Londonderry Corporation]] use of the Brandywell Stadium. Due to alledged persecution by the Unionist government and [[Royal Ulster Constabulary]] who deemed The Brandywell unsafe to host football and forced supporters to watch their team in a mainly Loyalist city, Derry City chose to leave the Irish League and joined the League of Ireland in the [[Republic of Ireland]]. The Club in 2009 was relegated and then liquidated and reformed.
