It is one of two political parties in Québec that is center/center-right, the other being the Action démocratique du Québec. The party is led by Jean Charest, who was formerly the leader of the Conservative Party of [[Canada]]. Charest has close ties with the Prime Minister of [[Canada]], [[Stephen Harper]].
