Varying legends and tales have originated seeking to explain the origins of the Manx cat’s tail, or lack thereof. One of the more interesting of these is the legend that the Manx cat lost it’s tail while boarding the Ark of Noah before the flood. The legend states that the Manx cat was the last creature to board the Ark as the waters began to fall and in his haste to shut the door Noah accidentally caught the Manx’s tail and severed it. <ref>http://www.manx.com/</ref>
