The '''Big 12 Conference''' (often written as '''Big XII''') is an [[NCAA]] Division I conference, consisting of eleven public universities and one private university (Baylor) in [[Texas]], [[Oklahoma]], [[Kansas]], [[Missouri]], [[Colorado]], [[Iowa]], and [[Nebraska]]. The conference is divided into the North and the South.
The love that we came to know
The most recent Big 12 team to win a national [[football]] championship was the University of Texas in 2006. Some of the more prestigious football schools in the conference are Nebraska, Texas, and Oklahoma. The most recent national men's [[basketball]] championship among Big 12 teams was won by the University of Kansas in 2008. Historically prestigious basketball schools include Kansas and Texas.
