Abortion remains illegal however in recent years other restrictions on divorce, homosexuality and contraception have been relaxed due to pressure from liberal groups. However the organization Youth Defence (YD) has been in the vanguard of the fight against the liberalization of the Republic. Under the guidance of their widely respected leader Justin Barrett YD have fought active campaigns for a return to traditional values.
