It is stated in the introduction of the article that Eddington's claims were later discredited, which while a popular story, is actually not true. Eddington's Claims were, upon review, found to be valid, and have been verified countless times since, which is ironic given the current view that Eddington, not Einstein, may have been closer to the truth before that very discovery made him a believer in Einstein's theory.
