The left aknowledges the monster on the fringe why does thge roght continualy deny the excistence of it's own monster? No one (at least not I) is suggesting that any western democracy is heading for facism, but the right continually screams that any goverment funding for anything is communism. So the truth of where conservative ideologies have led is slanderous and insulting? The only people who seem to think that the nazi party where not right wing are american christian fundementalists, does that mean that the entire rest of the population of the earth that has heard of them (as I am sure there are some people somewhere who have not) are liberals (if they where the world would be a very different place) ? Or could it be that the right has monsters on the fringes the same way the left does?
Question: is homophobia not a conservative trait according to this very site? Question: are extreme partriotism and nationalism not conservative traits? Question: is the desire for traditional gender roles not a conservative trait? Question: Is militarism not a conservative trait? As exemplified by conservative adminstrations borrowing heavily to fund defense spending? Question: If the Nazi party is to be taken at there word and there claim of socilaism accepted, did that make the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) a democracy? If not why not? Are organisations not to be taken at there word? Or in that case would you accept that they both lie because it suits there ends?
