Iona Abbey is most noted as the burial place of Scottish Kings and heroes such as [[King Kenneth McAlpine]] ,  [[King Macbeth]] , Sir John Smythe de la Bour.  It is also believed locally although this has never been confirmed that is it also the last resting place of [[Horserider]] the semi-fictional pimpernel of lore.
