Conservative Studies as a pop culture term was first popularized by Rush Limbaugh in repeated references to his fictitious "Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies".  The formal academic field of Conservative Studies was first pioneered by Dr. Judd Patton in a Seminar in Advanced Conservative Studies at Bellevue University.  The [http://www.conservativestudies.org Conservative Studies] organization and activist movement were founded by Danny Oliver.
