The '''Kuril Islands''' are an [[island]] chain under control of [[Russia]].  They were seized from [[Japan]] at the end of [[World War II]].

The '''Kuril Islands''' are chains of 22 primary islands & 32 small islets that are divided into three areas: the Northern Kuril Islands,  the Central Kuril Islands &  the Southern Kuril Islands. These [[islands]] sits on top of a geological composition called, Greater Kuril Ridge. These islands were once belong to [[Russia]].  The islands then  were seized from [[Japan]] at the end of [[World War II]].
