The North supported tariffs because then it’s companies could sell their goods that lower price than the foreign competitors as the north had many factories.  The South did not like tariffs because foreign countries would impose a similar tariffs on their exported cotton and their equipment would be taxed coming into the country which would make it more expensive.

4. I think that the war of 1812 was a necessary war as it resolved any unfinished business from the revolutionary war.  Also it put the United States on more of an international scale.

5. Question of the lecture “Was this "Louisiana Purchase" an improper exercise of power?” I think that the Louis Harris and Louisiana purchase was a proper exercise of power as the president was elected by the people and has control.

Question from the lecture “Is it wrong for a politician to cut a deal with another politician like the "corrupt bargain" between Adams and Clay?” I think that is wrong for any politician to cut deals with other politicians as these usually not in the best interests at of the people.  I think that the decisions should be made by the elected positions and bribery should not be tolerated.
