In 1978 Apple Records filed a trademark infringement suit against Apple Computer for use of the apple logo. The dispute was ended in 1981 when Apple Computers paid $80,000 to Apple Records. Part of the settlement included the condition that Apple Computers would not enter the music business<ref>http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/sep2004/tc20040930_9317_tc056.htm</ref>. These terms were violated by Apple Computer twice; once in 1991 and again in 2003<ref>http://news.cnet.com/Apple-vs.-Apple-Perfect-harmony/2100-1027_3-5378401.html</ref>.
